RANGELEY WEATHER

Alpine Skiing and Snowboarding

Ski and Board one of Maine's Tallest Mountains

The skiing industry began to develop in the Rangeley area during the 1950s. By 1960, Saddleback Mountain opened its doors to the public. Standing at 4,100 feet tall, with a vertical drop of 2,000 feet, Saddleback is Maine's third-largest ski area. It is located just a 15-minute drive from the village of Rangeley.

With the highest base lodge elevation in the Northeast (2,460 feet), Saddleback receives some of the most snowfall in New England. Whether you're an experienced skier or a beginner, Saddleback offers something for everyone. The ski area features 68 trails and over 600 acres of terrain suitable for all skill levels. Including 40 acres of beginner terrain and the iconic Casablanca Glades. There are four quad chairlifts, a T-bar, and a moving carpet available in the beginner area.

After a day on the slopes, you can relax and enjoy the après-ski scene at the mountain. The Pub at Saddleback, located in the base area, boasts stunning views of the mountains and generations of Saddleback memorabilia. Additionally, a new mid-mountain restaurant is 3,160 feet just off Hudson Highway.
